Toolbox Talks – Noise and Hearing Protection (UK)
More than 11,000 people in the UK suffer with noise-induced hearing loss caused by workplace noise. Unlike many other injuries, hearing loss is hard to see, its onset can be gradual, and it may become apparent when it’s too late. Yet hearing damage is a preventable workplace injury. This course looks at how delicate ears are, how easily they can be damaged, and why noise-damaged hearing loss is permanent. It covers safe noise exposure levels, effective use of hearing protection, and steps to prevent work-induced hearing loss.
Covered in this course:
- The importance of hearing protection
- The damage that loud noise can do to your hearing
- Legal requirements to reduce the risks of noise exposure at work
- Five steps to hearing safety
