Inclusive Behaviors – Inclusive Language
“That’s crazy”, “Hey guys”, and “How’s your wife?” might seem innocent phrases but are they really inclusive? Inclusive language is language that acknowledges diversity, conveys respect to all people, is sensitive to differences, and promotes equal opportunities. It’s thinking about the impact your words and phrases have on others.
Inclusive language is always evolving. In this course, employees will learn about what inclusive language means and why it’s so important to actively use it. They’ll also step away with inclusive language examples and reflect on their own use of language.
Covered in this course:
- Ways to be more inclusive in your language
- Examples of inclusive language
- Reflections on your own inclusive language behaviors
- Activities that will help increase inclusive language at work
